Read a deal in 90 seconds.
Call the tier. Route the lane.

33 sanitized bank statements. The five-number scan against a 90-second timer. Worked tier calls and routing decisions on every drill, the skill that separates a 5% pull-through broker from a 40% pull-through broker, built through reps, not theory.

01The skill

Five numbers. One tier call. The right two funder lanes.

A merchant submits four months of bank statements. A broker has 90 seconds to form a view: real revenue, daily balance, NSF count, existing advances, deposit consistency. Five numbers, one tier call, and the right two funder lanes.

Brokers who can run that scan reliably fund deals their first quarter. Brokers who can't blast files to twelve funders, get flagged for shopping, burn AE relationships in their first month, and spend nine months wondering why nobody answers their emails.

The five-number scan is the single highest-leverage skill in alternative business funding. It's also a skill every veteran broker had to build through reps on real files. The job of this product is to compress the rep curve from 200 statements over six months into 33 statements over a weekend.

The framework comes from Section 2 of the 2026 Broker Stack, the free interactive report at thefundedmethod.com/broker-stack. The framework is there. The reps are here.

02What's inside

33 drills. Four modules. Gating from pattern recognition to full routing.

  1. Module 0

    The shape of a deal

    3 drills · no timer

Three warmup statements. Clean, Risky, Stacked. The eye gets calibrated before the timer turns on.

  2. Module 1

    The five numbers

    10 drills · 90s

Ten drills, one focus number per drill. Monthly revenue with the owner-transfer trap. Daily balance with the high-revenue/thin-balance trap. NSF count with the OD-protection-disguise trap. Existing advances with the subsidiary-named-originator trap. Deposit consistency with the seasonal-looks-risky trap. Each drill builds the skill in isolation against a 90-second clock.

  3. Module 2

    The tier call

    12 drills · 90s

Twelve drills. Run the full five-number scan. Call Tier 1, Tier 2, specialty, or hard pass. The full mix: clean Tier 1 files across multiple industries, Tier 2 files priced for cash-flow risk, specialty files with disguised stacked positions, hard-pass files for restricted industry plus thin profile.

  4. Module 3 + Final Exam

    The routing call

    8 drills · 90s + 60s final

Eight drills. Now the routing call enters. Equipment financing primary on the trucking owner-op with a vendor invoice. Factoring primary on the staffing agency with $80K of commercial A/R. SBA primary on the manufacturer running $150K/mo with a $400K acquisition. Plus three mixed-difficulty exam files at a 60-second timer: full scan, tier call, routing call, cold.

Every drill includes:

  • A four-month bank statement, rendered in a clean fintech-grade view
  • A 90-second timer (60 seconds for the final exam)
  • A submit-your-call interface: five extracted numbers, tier call, routing call
  • An answer-key reveal post-submission with the five numbers calculated, the tier call reasoned, the routing call walked through, the common mis-reads called out, and the probable offer at industry-standard ranges

Statement continues across February, March, April · full 4-month drill in the course.

Statement loads. Timer starts. The buyer extracts five numbers, calls the tier, picks the lane. Submit, and the answer key reveals what every signal on the file actually meant. Run that loop 33 times and the scan becomes automatic.

04Audience

Who this is for, and who it's not for.

This is for

  • Career switchers looking at alternative business funding for the first time who need to build statement fluency before working a real deal
  • 1099 reps inside a brokerage who want to go independent and need to upgrade from "submit and hope" to actual underwriting judgment
  • Broker Stack readers who finished Section 2 and want the reps the framework alone can't give
  • Brokers in their first six months who keep getting outbid on clean deals and don't know why

This is not for

  • Anyone looking for a magic-bullet course that promises six-figure months in 90 days
  • Brokers who have already funded 50+ deals. Most of this skill will already be calibrated
  • Anyone who wants to skip the work and have AI do the underwriting for them. (AI does run this scan in 0.3 seconds. The broker still runs it mentally on every deal: to catch when the model is wrong, to defend the tier call to a merchant, to know which edge cases the model will mis-read before submission goes out. Skip the skill, get replaced by it.)
05The honest scope

What the $47 teaches. And what it deliberately does not.

What the $47 teaches

The five-number scan. Reading a statement against the framework. Calling the right tier. Routing to the right two lanes from the eight lender categories. Catching the most common mis-reads before submission.

What the $47 does not teach

Pricing, factor rate vs APR conversion, buy rate vs sell rate, broker markup, and live rate-sheet interpretation: none of it is in this product. Quoting pricing without a funder's current rate sheet in front of you is how new brokers either kill deals or commit to terms the funder won't honor. Pricing requires live rate sheets, 1:1 walkthroughs, and judgment that doesn't survive a written framework.

Where pricing and the rest get taught

The Funded Method Accelerator. 12 weeks of live training. The full Lender Matrix, 200+ funders organized by buy box, NDA-gated. The AI stack pre-built and configured for the cohort. Pricing frameworks taught against live rate sheets. Submission scripts and AE-relationship playbooks.

The middle tier

The Submission Vault · $297. Templates, scripts, and checklists for merchant intake, stip collection, submission emails, and objection handling. For brokers who want the operational layer between this $47 product and the full Accelerator.

This $47 is the first step in a system. The drill that builds the foundation skill. The Vault and the Accelerator are where the rest gets built.

06The deliverable

What you walk away with. After 33 drills.

  • The scan is automatic. Four months of statements, five numbers, 90 seconds, without referencing the framework.
  • The tier call is calibrated. Tier 1 vs Tier 2 vs specialty vs hard pass becomes a reflex, not a guess.
  • The lane is obvious. Equipment with an invoice, factoring with commercial A/R, SBA on the slow-money fit, MCA on everything else.
  • The mis-reads are visible. Owner transfers, loan proceeds, OD-protection-disguised NSFs, subsidiary-named MCA debits. Every common trap surfaces in the answer keys with the specific data point that gives it away.
  • The conversation with an AE changes. "I'm sending you a clean Tier 2, $42K/mo restaurant, NSFs cluster around rent ACH but recovered, position is 1st, equipment-backup if needed" reads as a broker who knows their file. AEs respond differently to that voice.

That's the deliverable: a skill, built through reps.

08FAQ

Common questions.

How long does the course take?

Roughly 90 minutes if a buyer runs straight through. Most buyers take it across two or three sessions over a weekend. Lifetime access means the rep loop runs whenever the skill needs sharpening.

Are the bank statements real?

No. Every merchant in the course is fictional. The transactions are AI-generated to be realistic (believable transaction descriptions, accurate MCC codes, internally coherent cash-flow patterns) but no real businesses, no real funders, no real account numbers. Using real merchant data would be a privacy violation. Generating realistic synthetic data is the right move for a training product.

Is this enough to start brokering deals?

Statement fluency is one of three foundational skills. The other two are funder relationships and a working submission process. The $47 builds the first. The Accelerator builds the other two.

What's the difference between this and the Broker Stack report?

The Broker Stack is the framework, the free interactive report explaining the buy box matcher, the eight lender categories, the five-number scan, the 90-day path, and the AI stack. This $47 product is the reps. Reading about the scan does not build the scan. Running the scan against 33 timed drills with worked answer keys does.

Can I access this on my phone?

Yes. The drill view renders on mobile. Some buyers will prefer desktop for the bank-statement table, since the data is dense, but the course works on any modern device.

Can I share my login with a friend?

Two-session limit per account. Use it on your phone and your laptop and that's normal. Try to seed it across a Discord server and the system will kick the older sessions until access disappears for everyone.
